Airtel 5G Launch Date in India : Do we Need New Airtel 5G Sim
Airtel 5G to roll out in October

Airtel 5G will be available next month, and the telco is informing customers about what they can expect from the provider.

Airtel 5G is set to launch in India very soon, and the telecom operator is reaching out to customers to provide information about the network and what to expect from the provider. "Within a few weeks, we will begin the launch of our next generation technology, Airtel 5G," Airtel CEO Gopal Vittal said in a mailer.

The telco has provided some answers to the most frequently asked questions about the launch of 5G services in the country. Airtel received the second highest value for 5G spectrum during the auctions held a few months ago. Here are some of the questions addressed in Airtel's mailer:

When Airtel 5G Launch in your city

Airtel claims that its 5G service will be available in a month, most likely in October, for residents of major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and a few others. Airtel intends to have its 5G network cover all of urban India by the end of 2023. This line implies that Airtel's 5G service will take much longer to reach all of India.

Airtel is asking its customers to check the Airtel Thanks app to find out when 5G will be available in their area and if their phone and city are 5G ready.

What Airtel 5G promises for its users

Airtel claims that its network will be 20 to 30 times faster than the current 4G network. It will also include a network slicing feature to accommodate different use cases, such as low-latency gaming or a high-speed network for work-from-home customers.

Airtel also claims that the 5G technology under its control will be compatible with all 5G smartphones available in India. When you travel abroad, the network and phone will also be compatible. According to the telco, "the 5G solution we have selected will be the most energy and carbon efficient in India."

What you need to use Airtel 5G

If you have a model that is more than a year old, Airtel recommends purchasing a new 5G phone. More importantly, the telco claims that its upcoming 5G service will work with existing SIM cards, eliminating the need for a new 5G-enabled SIM card. Once the 5G service is available in your area, simply go to your phone's network settings and enable 5G for your SIM network to begin using it.

The telco has not talked about plan details for its 5G customers but that should be available once the service becomes active in select cities next month.

Airtel 5G Speed

During the telco's trials in Gurugram and Mumbai, the Airtel 5G speed was around 1,000Mbps in Airtel 5G Speed Test. In Hyderabad, however, the network achieved peak speeds of 3Gbps (3,000Mbps), which is three times faster than Jio's 5G trial, allowing users to download a full-length movie in seconds.

Airtel 5G SIM

It is said that we as people don't need to buy a new Airtel 5g sim or we don't need any Airtel 5G sim upgrade to use Airtel 5G.
And there will not be any Airtel 5G Sim launch date in India because company is not going to launch any new sim,you can use Airtel 5G on your existing Airtel 4G sims.
Airtel 5G SIMs are not available in the market and neither will be. Its cleared that you will not need a 5G SIM card to enjoy high-speed internet. Services are compatible with 4G LTE SIMs in countries where 5G has already been announced. This will remain true until standalone 5G is achieved, which is unlikely to happen anytime soon. To use 5G, you must have a compatible device and an active 5G plan.
